Headington Ams 1 (L Cuff 40)

Clanfield boosted their Division 1 West promotion ambitions by surprising leaders Headington with a second-half comeback.

Hosts Ckanfield started strongly with Lee Keyes seeing his close-range header brilluiantly tipped over by headington keeper HarryJenkins.

But the visitors took the lead six minutes before the break when Luke Cuff, aftercombining well down the right flank with Liam Morbey and Jamie McCuaig, cut in and found the net with a low cross shot.

Clanfield were back on terms when Dan Bishops cross was volleyed home by Keyes in the 50th minute.

Bishop put the home side ahead with a 20-yarder which wrong-footed Jenkins.

Injuries to Luke Cuff and Morbey damaged Headington’s cause and they rarely threatened the home goal Clanfield wrapped the game up ten minutes from time, Kevin Lewis muscling his way through a stretched Headington defence and lofting the ball over Jenkins.

Letcombe 2 (Horswell 34, Brind 77)

Winterbourne 1 (Hopson 90)

Letcombe secured a hard fought victory over Winterbourne on a hard, bumpy surface.

After a brilliant save from Steve Vaux prevented the visitors from taking the lead, Letcombe went ahead with a great move. Good passing between Mark Brind and Mark Denny created the opening for Pete Horswell to score from 15 yards.

Only poor finishing, some good defensive blocks, and another brave save from Vaux prevented Winterbourne levelling early in the second half.

The visiting leeper Luke Baker gifted Letcombe a second, Mark Brind placing the ball into the empty net. Ben Hopson pulled a goal back for Winterbourne in stoppage time with a looping header.
