WINDRUSH won Division 2 of the Oxfordshire Five Disciplines League, despite losing their final match.
The team of Laura Hicks, Alison Powley, Neil Rowland and Mike Socker fell 232-207 to runners-up Evenlode B.
Hicks and Rowland won the opening mixed doubles 25-21, 25-22 over Julia Froud and Michael Brockie.
But in the ladies’ singles, Evenlode’s Poppy Bensburg beat Powley 25-20, 25-18 and Riaz Khimji saw off Socker 25-14, 25-16 in the men’s.
Froud and Bensburg teamed up to take the ladies’ doubles 25-21, 25-20.
The men’s doubles saw Windrush take the first 25-14. Then Khimji and Brockie finished with a 25-23 win.
Round 5 scores: Evenlode B 232, Windrush 207; Headington B 221, Gosford B 228; Cramic 249, North Abingdon 152.
Division 2 final standings: Windrush 1165pts, Evenlode B 1132, Cramic 1122, Gosford Hill B 1008, Headington B 970, North Abingdon 868.
