Truro City 2 (Hayles 9, Pugh 79)
Didcot Town 1 (Lawrence 29)
Didcot Town’s six match unbeaten run in the Premier Division came to an end following a controversial refereeing decision and subsequent late goal.
The result leaves Didcot a point above the drop zone.
It looked as though a superb rearguard display, masterminded by new signing Jamie Vincent, had earned Didcot a point.
But a foul on Andy Gunn went unpunished, the referee allowing play to go on before awarding the home side a free-kick. From the subsequent set-piece, Arran Pugh headed home Scott Walker’s cross to leave Didcot boss Ady Williams cursing his luck.
Earlier, ex-Premiership striker Barry Hayles headed Truro in front past Sam Warrell in the Didcot goal from a free-kick.
The visitors came close to leveling twice when first Dave Lawrence hit the upright from close range, and then Elliott Osborne-Ricketts also struck a post as the visitors tried to get back in the game.
Their persistence paid off when when Lawrence skilfully-volleyed home the equaliser following a long Warrell goal-kick.
The second have had fewer chances at both ends although Truro looked the more likely. Indeed, Warrell made two outstanding saves from free-kicks to keep the scores level until Pugh’s late winner meant it was a miserable long journey back to Oxfordshire.
Didcot Tn: Warrell, M Williams, Stanley, Vincent, Gunn, Alexis, Heapy, Tabor Mutero 78), Lawrence, Osborne-Ricketts (Castello 60), Bartley.
