CALLUM Cheal’s late strike put Oxfordshire into the final of the South West Counties Youth Championship Bluefin Cup after a 1-0 win over Gloucestershire.
It was justice for Oxon, who were forced to replay the match after leading 3-0 at half-time when the first attempt to play the game was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
With the game looking like ending all-square, Cheal reacted quickest when a cross by Oxford City’s Ryan Barney was headed against the bar, only for Cheal, also a City player, to turn it home from close range.
Oxon will now meet Devon on Sunday, April 17, after they beat Wiltshire 3-2.
