Alec Dent, who resigned the Oxford University Boat presidency earlier this year when he was suffering with a back injury, has been included in the Dark Blues' crew to take on Cambridge in the Boat Race on Saturday, March 26.
Dent, from Bampton near Witney, thought he would not be able to race, but has made a remarkable recovery.
Oxford coach Sean Bowden will be looking for a 10th success at his 17th attempt - four of which came with Cambridge in the 1990s - while Oxford bid for a 76th victory overall against Cambridge's 80 wins.
Cambridge have named three Boat Race winners in their 2011 crew as they aim to defend their title against Oxford.
