OXFORD & District’s Howard Watts suffered a double disappointment in the area finals of the English Indoor Bowling Association National Championships.
Watts’s side of Eddie Pilgrim, Paul Comley and Nick Rae-Welsh were pipped 16-15 by skip Simon Jones (Desborough, Maidenhead) in the fours at West Berks, Newbury.
And the following night, Watts was blown away 21-10 by Desborough’s John McGuinness in the singles at the same venue.
