Hereford United’s top scorer, Stuart Fleetwood, is one of the leading contenders to pick up the ESPN PFA Fans’ League Two player-of-the-month award for February.

The Gloucester-born Wales Under 21 international joined Hereford last June and this season he has struck 13 goals in 27 starts for The Bulls. Nine of those have been in the league.

Promising strikerMathieu Manset, 21, had hit seven goals before his move to Reading in the January transfer window.

On loan to the Bulls at the moment is Waide Fairhurst, a young striker from Doncaster, and he has scored three goals in his three appearances so far.

Fleetwood, 24, has proved a prolific goalscorer wherever he has been.

The 5ft 6in-tall forward hit 32 goals in 44 games for Forest Green three years ago.

And although it didn’t really work out for him when he moved to Charlton, where he made just one appearance, he kept finding the net on loan, bagging seven in 23 starts for Exeter City.

It’s a different manager at Edgar Street from when Oxford won there in September.

Jamie Pitman replaced Simon Davey on October 4 and has turned results around.
