BETH Hawtin was the leading light in the junior races, finishing 27th in the under 15 girls’ race at Alton Towers.
Hawtin produced a brave run in the quagmire conditions, clocking 16mins 04secs to record an excellent 27th from a field of 300.
Elissa Clark was 199th and Mya Walker 263rd.
Hawtin’s clubmate, Matthieu Marshall, finished 35th out of 326 in the under 15 boys’ race.
Elsewhere, Beth Mulvany and Storm Sunderland were 63rd and 68th in the under 13 girls’ race, while 11-year-old Freddie Sunderland, competing in the under 13 boys’ event, was 122nd out of 327.
Other City performances saw Ryan Meredith finish 180th in the under 17 boys’ race, while Lauren Hawtin and Jade Walker were 63rd and 83rd respectively in the under 17 girls’ race.
