OXFORD have been drawn at home to Thames Valley League side Amersham in the ECB National Club Championship first round on Sunday, May 8.

Banbury, meanwhile, are away to Potters Bar, who were relegated from Home Counties Premier League Division 1 last year.

In the previous Sunday’s Conference Cup first round, Oxford have been drawn at home to Essex League side Harold Wood.

Aston Rowant are at home to Southern Electric Premier League Division 2 side Ventnor, in the competition, which was formerly known as the Evening Standard Cup.

However, that is also the day Rowant have been drawn at home to Horspath in the npower Village Cup first round.

Rowant chairman Gary Condon said that it was their intention to play both games.

“We will speak to both parties and see if we can change those dates,” he said.

Meanwhile, Budding young cricketers are being invited to a half-term coaching course, run by Darryl Woods at Burford School.

The three-day course, from February 22 to 24, will introduce eight to 15-year-olds to bowling, batting, fielding and wicket-keeping.

It runs from 10am to 3pm and costs £60 or £20 per day.
