MASONS B’s Chris Webb and Kennington’s Ian Gordon recorded personal best scores to help their sides reach the Team Knockout Cup semi-final, writes PETE EWINS.
Webb’s brilliant 24,590 helped Masons B to a 4-1 second leg win over Masons A for a 7-3 aggregate victory.
Dave Butt (6,210), Ernie Smith (4,310) and Andy Webb (6,080) were Masons’ other winners.
Gordon recorded a career-best 15,280 points as Kennington recorded an outstanding 5-0 second leg win over Vikings Club A for a 10-0 aggregate victory.
Gordon’s tally included breaks of 8,820 and 6,460.
Mark Trafford (9,010, break 8,390), Pauline Withey (9,020), Kevin Godfrey (7,190) and Steven Sheard, who hit a break of 13,380, completed the rout.
Comrades saw off Democrats 4-1 to take the tie 6-4 on aggregate, while Didcot Conservative Club knocked out Gladiators Club A.
In Group B, Gladiators B won 3-2 in their return leg at Vikings B to go through 6-4 on aggregate.
Vikings got off to a flying start with the in-form Sean Stratford (14,370) and Dave Bartlett (6,760) putting the home side 2-0 up.
But Gladiators hit back with Grant Johnson (4,230), Reg Johnson (4,830) and Phil Clark (4,590) completing a great recovery.
Headington Conservative Club went down 3-2 at home to Dolphin, but still advanced 6-4 on aggregate.
Marlborough Club won 3-2 at Shelley to take the tie 8-2 on aggregate.
