James Comben’s late penalty earned Henley Hawks a 27-24 victory at Lydney.
Fly half Comben didn’t miss a place kick all afternoon and finished with a 17-point haul.
Hawks were 7-0 up after two minutes, with Comben feeding centre Danny Wells to race in, Comben converting.
Comben added a penalty, but Lydney hit back with a try from No 8 Paul Scott, centre Brett Turner converting.
Hawks created space for Comben to score and convert.
Turner kicked a penalty to make it 17-10 at the break, which came after locks Tom Stradwick (Henley) and James Bashford were sin-binned.
Lydney levelled with a pushover try, converted by Turner, but Comben fed full back Tom Allen to score and converted it.
Comben won it with a late penalty following a try from Lydney full back Anthony Wicks, converted by Turner.
