Wing Phil Kelly was forced out just short of the try-line in the first clear chance for Martin Moran’s men, while their pack held sway.
Full back Ralph Smith put the visitors ahead with a simple penalty.
They went 8-0 ahead when flanker Marcus Wiltshire scrambled over for his first Wallingford try.
Defences stayed on top, but a second Smith penalty made it 11-0 at the break.
Hooker Matt Chapman touched down from a rolling maul, but Wimborne hit back with a try.
Centre Johnny Collett and prop Ed Jenkins wasted great chances to make it safe and Wimborne managed a second try, but Wallingford kept calm.
Witney’s home game with Oakmeadians was postponed due to the Hailey Road pitch being frozen.
