BB&O round-up

George Symonds and Joe McAneaney ran in try doubles as Alchester cruised to a 50-14 Premier Division win at basement boys Hungerford.

Centre Symonds notched the first, with Tom Barnes converting, then Adam Thompson was driven over for No 2.

No 8 McAneaney bagged a third, again converted by Barnes, before off-loading for Matt Flegg to make it 26-0.

Wing Tom Miles scored try No 5 after the break, but Hungerford hit back with two converted tries.

Alchester hit full throttle, with McAneaney driving over for his second.

Flanker Joe Fawcett and Symonds completed the try tally in the final ten minutes, with Flegg converting both.

Harwell held on to beat Thatcham 2nd 20-18 in Division 1 South.

The hosts led 15-5 at the break thanks to tries from lock Matt Wild, captain Andy Lee, and wing John Deverteuil.

Ian Empson then put Harwell ahead 20-10 with a try in the corner.

Thatcham hit back again, while both sides missed late penalties.

Didcot ran in 13 tries as they hammered Slough 2nd 81-14 in Division 2 South.

Ben Cox scored a hat-trick of tries, while Bleddyn Davies, Paul Costello and Simon Blithing each bagged braces.

John Madley, Andy Cook, Andy Taylor and Tom Kennedy scored one try each.

Costello added seven conversions, and skipper Paul Parlett one.
