TWO young riders from Oxfordshire have been given a boost by being selected for AW Cycles junior squad.
Sixteen-year-olds Will Macke, from Witney, and Harry Strudley, from Benson, are in a five-strong team that will be targeting the national junior series and even some international racing.
Sponsored by a Reading-based bike shop, the team are designed to give talented riders a platform for progressing their careers, allowing them to race and train as a team.
Other members of the squad, announced by AW Cycles’ racing team manager James Thompson, are Stephen Thompson, 17, Frazier Carr, 16, and Cam Swarbrick, also 16.
All have been racing at Reading’s velodrome from a young age.
