Oxford Harlequins were left ruing errors in their 24-11 home defeat to Exmouth.

Quins gave two tries away and wasted three golden try-scoring opportunties.

Exmouth took the lead on 16 minutes with a penalty from fly half Jon Fabian.

Quins fly half Jeff Stewart was then yellow-carded.

Fabian slotted a second penalty on 37 minutes, but Exmouth had full back Jack Downie sin-binned and Stewart kicked a penalty.

Scrum half Anthony Cope, Stewart and centres Chris Tuatara and Martin Nutt combined to send left wing Xavier Andre over in the corner.

A mix-up between Quins’ full back Huw Jones and wing Andy Noyce gave Matt Ryan a soft try.

On 55 minutes, Fabian ran back a poor clearance to score and convert the try himself.

Stewart landed a penalty, but Fabian replied with a penalty and a drop goal.

In between, Andre and Jones wasted great chances.

Chinnor lost 37-13 at Bournemouth, who went top.

Visiting fly half James Cathcart kicked two penalties in the first half, but his side trailed 20-6 at the break.

Bournemouth bagged tries from Sam Hardcastle and Eddie Edwards, Scott Chislett converting both and adding two penalties.

Robert Bruce ran in Bournemouth’s third try on 45 minutes.

Chinnor flanker Ed Vickers hit back with a try, converted by Cathcart, while Hardcastle was sin-binned.

Bruce scored again, Chislett converting.

Hardcastle returned to notch his second, but his side also ended with 14 men after a yellow card for Jack Hennings.
