Henley Hawks came close to ending Jersey’s three-year unbeaten home record in an 18-15 defeat.
Hawks fought back from 15-0 down to trail by three points with 15 minutes left.
Michael Le Bourgeois put Jersey ahead with a penalty, then wing James Copsey scored wide out.
Steve O’Brien raced clear for try No 2, Le Bourgeois converting.
Hawks raised their game in the second half, with wing Neil Baggett scoring and fly half James Comben converting.
Comben and Le Bourgeois traded penalties, while Jersey had hooker Josh Chamier sin-binned.
Henley replacement wing Tommy Haynes reduced the arrears with a try, but Jersey held on.
