Cheney (Oxford) kept their Wembley dreams alive by winning the npower Football League Under 13 Girls Cup regional south area final for Oxford United at Wycombe.

Molly Lygo-Jackson’s golden goal gave Cheney a thrilling 1-0 victory over Wycombe in the decider.

Now Cheney will fly the flag for United in the south final at Watford on Tuesday, February 8 – with the prize for the winners a place in the national final before the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final at Wembley on Sunday, April 3.

Cheney’s win over Wycombe capped a dramatic day.

After recording 1-0 wins over QPR and Wycombe in their group and losing 1-0 to Southampton, they went into a three-way sudden death penalty shoot-out.
