Liam Botcherby was Mid Oxon’s hero with a dramatic winner in a 2-1 extra-time victory at Wolverhampton in the ESFA Under 15 Trophy fourth round.
His strike five minutes from the end of extra-time at Goodrich Sports Ground set up a clash away to Brierley Hill & Dudley in the last 16.
Mid Oxon took the lead when Luke Turner’s cross was deflected into the net by a Wolverhampton defender for an own goal.
The visitors were then dealt a blow when Ryan Heap landed badly on an ankle and was taken to hospital with ligament damage.
As Mid Oxon continued to dominate after the break, the home side lost their discipline with a couple of yellow cards.
With only three minutes left, Owen Churchill fired home to force extra time.
However, Mid Oxon weren’t to be denied.
OXFORDSHIRE will face Merseyside in the ESFA Under 14 Inter County Trophy semi-final at Liverpool Soccer Centre on Thursday, February 10 (6pm).
Merseyside won 3-1 away to Lincolnshire in the last eight.
