Cinderford Tn 3 (Evans pen 75, pen 89, McCootie 78)
Abingdon Utd 2 (Mills 28, 53)
Abingdon United let slip a two-goal lead provided by John Mills’s double as they slumped to their fifth successive defeat in Division 1 South & West.
Mills fired Abingdon into the lead after 28 minutes, running on to a Tom Melledew pass and hitting a first-time shot on the turn into the far corner.
After the break, Abingdon deservedly went 2-0 ahead after Jon Gardner brought down a weak clearance and played a killer ball to Mills, who ran on and blasted a shot over the diving keeper.
Steve Davis went close to adding to Abingdon’s lead when his shot his a post.
But the introduction of 6ft 7in substitute striker Lewis Sommers changed the game as Abingdon came under an aerial bombardment.
From a cross, Luke Carnell was adjudged to have handled and Dale Evans fired home the spot-kick.
Three minutes later, Nick McCootie juggled the ball past two challenges and volleyed the equaliser.
And a minute from time, Carnell put his hand up to stop an Evans header going in, and was sent off before Evans drilled home his second spot-kick.
