Oxfordshire Under 19s crashed to a disappointing four-wicket defeat against Belridge Acadamy on their first day in Perth, Western Australia.

Winning the toss and batting on a fast pitch, Oxon were guilty of poor running bet-ween the wickets as they posted 172-5 from their 45 overs.

Harry Smith smashed a superb 93, but only George Rendall (30) gave much support.

Hendrick Bohts took three wickets in an over to finish with 4-39.

Oxon’s opening attack of Matt Woods and Tom Geeson-Brown bowled with good control in the early stages, and at 14 overs, Belridge were only 37-1.

But when the change bowlers came on, the home side tore into the Oxon attack, Richard Cook coming in for particular punishment as Belridge eased to the target with more than eight overs to spare.
