Oxford City boss Mike Ford hopes to sign keeper Terry Burton on a permament basis.

The former Forest Green Rovers No 1 played in Saturday’s 2-0 success at Banbury United and Tuesday’s League Cup win against Thatcham.

Ford, whose side are without a game this weekend, said: “I had a conversation with Terry and he is pretty keen to stay. You don’t play in the Conference if you’re not a good keeper and we would like to sign him.

“It’s just a case of sorting things out between ourselves and Terry.”

North Leigh boss Mark Gee has called-up injured defender Stuart Huxley to face Gosport in Division 1 South & West tomorrow.

Huxley is waiting for a scan on a knee injury, but has agreed to step in to help.

Kieran Sanders and Toby Clark are suspended, while George Redknap (groin injury) and Ben Reardon (knee) are sidelined.

Striker Andy McCabe (groin) is also doubtful.

“Gosport are similar to ourselves – they have no trouble scoring goals, but let in a few at the other end,” said Gee.

“We’re playing well in the league, but we need to cut out the individual errors and start getting some points on the board.”

Abingdon United entertain Frome at Northcourt Road.

North Leigh (v Gosport, home): from Lonsdale, Barrett, Collins, Dodds, Huxley, Hole, Caton, Burnell, Bowles, Posey, McCabe, Taylor, Hodgkins, Futcher, Saunders.
