Alfie Potter gave Oxford United a dream start by firing them into a fourth-minute lead against Northampton at the Kassam Stadium today.
He shot home left-footed from eight yards, from James Constable's low cross after a flowing U's move.
But the Cobblers drew level 12 minutes later.
Danger man Leon McKenzie followed up his 21-minute hat-trick last week by heading in Liam Davis's left-wing cross.
However, Josh Payne curled in a brilliant free-kick from 22 yards on the stroke of half-time to put Oxford 2-1 up at the break.
