AFTER a year out through injury, Susan Blunsden, coach of the Bicester & District club, came back with a gold medal from the National Veterans Competition.

Competing in the over 30 category alongside her sister Carrie-Anne, Susan secured gold with Carrie-Anne taking a silver medal.

The sisters also took part in the over 30s trampoline competition with Carrie-Anne lifting silver and Susan bronze.

Meanwhile, Bicester clai-med four gold medals at the Oxfordshire Individual Apparatus Competition at the Phoenix Club in Maidenhead.

Level 4 junior Amy Chapman won gold for her ‘half-on-half -off’ handspring vault and a silver for her asymmetric bar routine.

At level 4 senior level, Emily Harris won gold on the floor, while Katie Harris took silver on the handspring vault.

The level 3 vault saw three Bicester gymnasts on the podium. Georgie Long took gold, Gemma Sole silver and Jess Pitts bronze.

Pitts also took bronze in the asymmetric bars.

Competing on floor and beam at level 3, Amy Deller took a gold and silver respectively.

At level 5, Tobi Stevens produced a fine beam routine to take bronze.

Carterton’s Natasha Gran-ville, eight, competing in level 5, took gold on beam and silver on the floor.

Ella Mead and Ella Frost, both 11, competed in level three.

Frost took gold on beam and silver on floor, Mead claiming bronze on the beam.

Molly Mullins won bronze on the beam and bronze on the floor.

Abingdon came away with a host of medals.

The youngest age group at level five saw Gracie Buch-anan winning the vault and Isobel Hobbs taking home golds on bars and floor.

In the out-of-age category, Kerry Underwood stormed to gold on the bars and won silver on the floor.

In the level five senior section, Lottie Onion took gold on the beam, while Rachel Willett, competing in level two, received a gold for her beam performance, despite suffering a fall.

At level four, Rose Rooney won gold on the vault, while clubmate Casey Duignan won gold for her floor routine with a spectacular display, and silver on the vault.

Rebecca Griffin, having been badly injured two weeks ago, came to support her teammates but stepped in on bars and earned the gold medal.

Abingdon’s sole representative at level four senior, Chloe Palmer, won silver for her floor routine and gold on the beam.
