Newly-promoted Eynsham A recorded their first win of the Gentworks Oxford League season at the expense of New Club A in Division 1.
After three successive defeats, Lawrence Parsons got Eynsham off to a flier, beating Ian Gee 57-48, 69-38.
Justin Shepherd thumped Bob Thiele 51-4 in frame three, only for Thiele to hit back and win the next 49-33 to restore Eynsham’s two-frame advantage.
Alan Mander pipped Richard Partlett 55-52 to reduce the arrears, but Partlett won the final frame 55-44 to secure Eynsham’s victory.
