Oxfordshire slipped to a resounding 11-4 defeat away to Warwickshire 3rd in their Division 1C opener.
Alison Ross and Helen Palmer, and Sarah Torgersen and Claire Tait each picked up a women’s doubles win for Oxon.
David Soanes and Phill Sayer, and James Buffham with Jonathan Campbell did likewise in the men’s doubles, but it couldn’t stop Warwickshire claiming victory.
Oxfordshire 3rd fared better with a convincing 9-6 win at home to Northampton 3rd in Division 5D.
Oxon raced into a 4-0 lead with singles wins from Kathryn Wilson, Harriet Allen, Pete Browning and Adam Khimji.
Going into the final discipline – the mixed doubles – Oxfordshire had set up an unassailable 8-4 lead, which the unbeaten Adam Khimji with Nicola Casey capped with a win.
Sixteen-year-old Michael Brockie (Evenlode) landed himself a county cap and on debut won a doubles with Pete Browning.
Also gaining senior county caps were 17-year-old Nadia Howden (Park) and Jamie Blair, from Didcot.
