Players in round one of the Five Disciplines Division 1 at Headington were left in the dark when an eager security guard turned off the lights.
Two of the four matches had been completed when the guard, claiming he was “just doing his job”, flicked the switch at 10.30pm, forcing the two remaining ties to come to an abrupt halt.
The future of these unfinished matches is to be decided by the league’s committee.
