Banbury's minis secured three titles in a fine weekend of tournament action.

Their under 9Bs were successful at the Rugby St Andrews tag event, while Banbury Under 10s and 12s won at Cheltenham.

Ben Pratt’s try sealed victory for the under 9B side.

Banbury beat Rugby 30-0 and drew 5-5 with Daventry in their pool, before tries from Harry Turburfield, James Barker and Josh McCallum saw them defeat Old Laurentonians 15-0 in the semi-finals.

Rhys Benton scored first in the final against Daventry, but Pratt’s second-half try saw them win 10-5.

The under 8s finished runners-up in their event at Rugby.

Banbury Under 10s avenged last year’s defeat in the final at Cheltenham with a 35-5 victory over holders Droitwich.

They scored 35 tries and conceded one in five matches.

Hat-trick heroes Alfie Barbeary and Hector Stapleton led the way in the final, with Harry Horrocks scoring the other try.

Banbury Under 12s won on countback after drawing 5-5 with Daventry in the final.

Their try scorers were Jake Manning (3), Callum O’Shea (2), Rory Shaw (2), Mika Catania, Felix Clarke and George Crofts.

Meanwhile, their under 14s earned a 24-12 victory at Breden in Gloucestershire.

Sam Jackson (2), Harry Graham and captain Tyler Smith scored tries, with Sam Manning kicking two conversions.
