Be the best you can – that was the message from dual Olympic cycling medallist medallist Bryan Steel when he gave a talk at Matthew Arnold School, Cumnor.
The 41-year-old won silver for Great Britain in the team pursuit at Athens in 2004 after taking bronze at Sydney four years earlier.
And he came to the school to speak to year seven youngsters as part of 21st Century Legacy – a charity aimed at inspiring youngsters to fulfil their potential.
Headteacher Katherine Ryan said: “I felt that this programme would offer a great opportunity for our students’ personal development.
“The inspiration offered by our Olympians and Paralympians, who strive to achieve their goals is incredibly powerful and can have a very positive influence on young people.”
