Oxford Boxing Academy’s teenage prospect, Bradley Townsend made it three in a row with a unanimous points victory over Sean Wood (Milton Keynes) at Bedford.

The two had met previously at The Kassam Stadium with Townsend being the eventual winner. Wood had always complained that the judges had favoured the local lad.

Having grown a few extra inches over the summer, Townsend was comfortable boxing at lightweight (60kg).

Like a tiger out of a cage, he pounced on his opponent from the first bell – catching Wood with punches from both hands. Wood had to resort to holding tactics to stop the barrage of punches.

After three punishing rounds, the referee raised Townsend’s arm after he got the verdict from all three judges.
