Oxford City boss Mike Ford has saluted his side’s attitude as they look for their first Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division win against visitors Hednesford Town on Saturday.

Although City lost 2-0 at Salisbury in midweek, he was delighted with their application.

“Despite losing, the mood is confident,” said Ford.

“We played well at Salisbury where we created a number of chances and did everything but score.

“The most pleasing thing is that we scrapped and fought and showed a desire to get a result which we need to take to Saturday’s game.”

City are cutting admission prices to £3 for adults.

Banbury United manager Billy Jeffrey wants his side to be more clinical when they travel to Bedford.

His side missed a host of chances, only to be sunk by a late winner at Truro.

“Our performance was better and we need to do the same at Bedford.”

Kieran Sanders and Joe Burnell return when North Leigh host Paulton Rovers in Division 1 South & West. Stuart Huxley is still out.

Abingdon United hope to sign midfielder Ben Wells from Swindon Supermarine, in time for Bideford’s visit.

Alan Foster retains his place in goal after taking over from Jon Beames, while striker Billy Beechers has rejoined from Oxford City.
