Round-up

Alchester earned a hard-fought 22-5 victory at Gosford All Blacks in the BB&O Premier Division, with wing Andy Blacklock grabbing a brace of tries.

The visitors spent much of the first half defending, with Gosford half-backs Tim Ellis and Harry Sutton dictating the play.

But Alchester took the lead with a Steve Miller penalty.

A bullocking run from No 8 Joe McAneaney set up Blacklock for a try that Miller converted.

Alchester prop Sean Cooke shrugged off several defenders to score on 50 minutes.

It was 22-0 on the hour mark after Blacklock raced in for his second, Miller converting.

Gosford replied with the try of the match, scored and converted by Ellis after good work from Sutton and James Holburn.

Didcot ran in ten tries to thrash Aldbourne/Hungerford 67-0 in BB&O Division 2 South, with Tom Kennedy grabbing a hat-trick.

John Madley and Andy Taylor bagged two tries, with Sam Lacy, John Stephens and Greg Arthy also crossing over.

Paul Costello kicked seven conversions and a penalty.
