PROMISING City of Oxford swimmer Eleanor McNally led the way with eight golds at the club’s championship at Temple Cowley.

The 11-year-old Oxford High School student stormed to victory in in the 50m breaststroke, clocking 41.36 secs.

Her other golds came in the 200m distances of freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke.

She also won the 50m backstroke, 100m breaststroke, 100m freestyle and 400m medley.

In the boys’ events, Guy Giles and Jack Gosden-Kaye shared first place in the gold medal table with eight wins apiece.

  • NIENKE Lijzenga, of Ab-ingdon Vale, won three gold medals in the Maxwell L3 meet at Aylesbury.

Gold: N Lijzenga, 12, 100m freestyle (1min 9.00secs), 200m freestyle (2.25.42), 200 backstroke (2.42.73); L Seaward, 11, 100 breaststroke (1.28.19), 200m breaststroke (3.05.69).

Silver: G Ford, 12, 50 butterfly (35.43); N Lijzenga, 12, 100m backstroke (1.16.20).

Bronze: G Ford, 12, 100m butterfly (1.22.31), 200m IM (2.53.57).

  • Didcot Barramundi won the first ever BBAT Shield as four clubs – Barramundi, Bourne End, Aylesbury and Thame – competed against each other in 50m and 100m races followed by relays.

Barramundi won 61 golds, 51 silver and 35 bronzes.
