Cheetahs skipper Todd Wiltshire is black and blue after his crash in the World Team Cup event on Sunday, but delighted at being back on the world championship stage.
The Australian, who takes part in the World Cup final at Reading on Saturday, said: "What a nice result, but the crash was not the best thing since sliced bread. I have bruises all over, but I am walking and feel okay.
"It just feels as though I have been through a giant whiplash."
Commenting on his two mishaps the other was a massive engine blow-up, he added: "I was on a minimum of two points in each of those two rides and it ruined what would have been a superb night for me, but that's speedway.
"It was unbelievable to be among world championship status again. It's definitely the place to be.
"We were all on a high and the team spirit was something else. It's a long time since we were altogether as a team and it was greatly appreciated to be so warmly welcomed back by the team.
"I have been in the sport a long time and like to think that being the elder statesman I still have plenty to offer on and off the track."
