Oxford City ladies consolidated their lead at the top of Southern League Division 3 West as they ran out convincing winners at Horspath Road.

They now go into their final match of the season with a virtually unassailable lead of 187 points over local rivals Radley B, who had to settle for second place.

City's under 15 girls were in superb form, with many athletes covering other events to fill gaps left by unavailability and injury.

Rebecca Littlewood had a successful day, with three personal bests, including setting a club record in her first attempt at the pole vault (non-scoring).

Newcomer Isabelle Carvallo had a storming run in her B string 100m, winning her race against more experienced athletes, while Nionah Ntaranga again had top three-finishes in her three throwing events.

Elsewhere, Harriette Cooke set a personal best in the discus, and Kirsty Warland followed up her success at last week's English Schools Championships to produce a national grade 1 performance to coast to a hurdles win.

In the senior section, City's Natalie Delahunty produced a great triple jump of 10.60m, only being denied first place on countback.

Natalie Venn produced a personal best throw in the javelin of 28.51m, while Hayley Luke won the 400m hurdles at her first attempt, setting a club record in the process.

Despite injury, Jade Clarke set a personal best in the pole vault, and Rebecca Bolton, who was hurt in her first event, still gained valuable points over the day in the 400m and 800m.

Veteran Gwyneth Hueter again produced some strong runs, highlighted by her win in the B string 800m.

Emily Patrick put together a well-judged 300m hurdles to win by some, and then shaved nearly half a second off her best in the sprint hurdles.

Emily Webster ran a personal best in her 200m and Emma Sutton again looked strong as she easily won the discus.

Sarah Davies judged her 3000m almost to perfection, with a great sprint to gain second place.

The 4 x 400m relay team set a season's best and won by around 200m.

There were some sparkling performances for Radley.

In the junior section, Amy Todd grabbed two personal best, clocking 14.8 in the 100m and throwing 12.14m in the discus.

Emily Dobson leapt to a best of 3.94m in the long jump, while there was also a best for Kandi Harris in the javelin (10.86).

At senior level, it was a busy day for Lucy Bourne in her first match for the club in 18 months as she completed seven events.

Distance runner Tracy Galbraith finished second in both the 1500m and 3000m, while Jodie Kafke impressive on her return from injury in the 800m and 1500m.

Debutant Allysa Codrington had a personal best in the 200m (26.6), while mother and daughter Lyn and Sam Ahmet competed in 12 events between them.

Sam gained pbs in the hammer (23.19m) and javelin (15.28m), as well as clearing 1.30m in the pole vault.
