Henley's Bjorn Mordt captured 4-14 to send Banbury to a seven-wicket defeat in Saturday’s Oxfordshire derby in the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League.

Banbury’s top order had no answer to Mordt and Nicholas Denning (2-34), who produced some fine bowling to leave the visitors struggling on 70-5.

Luke Ryan and Ian Hawtin staged a minor recovery with a stand of 34, before Mordt had Hawtin caught by Todd Ferguson.

Ryan was run out and with further wickets falling at regular intervals, Banbury were all out for 144.

Needing early wickets to have any chance of defending their poor total, Banbury got off to a flying start.

Michael Roberts was trapped lbw by Todd Gutheridge to leave Henley at 0-1, and it looked like game on.

But an 87-run parnership between Jonno McLean (52) and David Barnes (33) got Henley back on track, and they eased home in the 31st over.
