The latest in the Carp League 2010 series was fished at Tunnel Barn, Shrewley, last Sunday by 20 matchmen, and although the weather had improved from the day before, the wind was a bit blustery.

The venue fished very well and at the final whistle, Barry Morgan triumphed with a net of F1, F2 carp and barbel weighing 98.8.0.

He started off fishing long with meat, but then came into six metres with paste.

Series organiser Andy Benwell was runner-up with a similar mixture of fish for 87.1.0, alternating between six me-tres and down the edge with paste on the hook.

Dave Stratfull weighed in a third-placed 63.13.0 on corn well over and like the others, caught F1, F2 carp and small barbel.

l OXFORD Bus AC are looking for new members for the 2010-11 season.

The club fish regular matches throughout the season at different venues including their ‘School Waters’. This stretch of the Cherwell must be one of the most picturesque venues in Oxford as it is at the top of ‘The High’.
