Ian Moss’s 12,040 break in the fourth game proved decisive as he and partner Alan Oliver beat Comrades’ Simon Ellam and Chris Storch on aggregate in the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford & District League pairs semi-final, writes PETE EWINS.
Played on the Masons top, the Vikings duo were trailing 2-1 and 7,700 down until Moss struck to set up a showdown against Geoff and Craig Mace on finals night at the Gladiators Club on Saturday, May 15.
In the men’s individual quarter-final, Dave Rose beat Dave Tooke, while Sean Stratford knocked out Bob Allsworth.
Rose will face Mark Trafford and Stratford will be up against Steven Sheard in the semi-final at Shelley tonight.
Pauline Withey defeated Mel Standbridge in the ladies’ semi-final to set up a decider again Didcot’s Sue Atkins.
In the Pat Webber Cup semi-final, Gladiators’ Bob Pincombe beat Masons’ Lewis Stratford. He faces Masons’ Dave Rose in the final.
ENTRY forms for the summer three-a-side competition should be submitted to the secretary by Friday, May 28.
