James Smith struck twice as Cheney (Oxford) came from behind to lift the Oxfordshire Under 12 Cup with a 3-1 win over Larkmead (Abingdon) in the final at Letcombe FC.

James Shaw fired Larkmead in front midway through the first half.

But Smith equalised for Cheney after a strong run just before half-time.

Cheney took the lead early in the second half, Callum Harvey reacting quickest following a free-kick.

The Oxford youngsters went on to dominate the half, and Smith clinched victory with his second goal.

SPENCER Bailey’s double helped Wheatley Park to a 3-0 win over John Mason (Abingdon) in the Oxfordshire Under 15 Cup final at Letcombe FC.

Wheatley Park had the better of the first half, and Bailey headed them in front after 20 minutes. Tony O`Donnell added the second from close range following a free-kick just before half-time.

With the wind behind them, John Mason created at least four good chances in the second half, but failed to take any of them.

Wheatley keeper Bradley Omand made a terrific one-handed save from a free kick. And, in the last minute, Bailey added No 3 to make the scoreline slightly flattering to Wheatley Park.

CHERWELL (Oxford) go for a double in the Oxfordshire Under 14 Cup finals at Oxford City on Tuesday.

They face Oxford Academy in the girls final at 4pm followed by the boys final against Carterton at 6pm.
