Naomi Hicks returned fine figures of 4-19, but it was all in vain as Oxfordshire's girls lost by eight runs at Northants in the ECB Under 15 County competition.
Winning the toss, Oxfordshire elected to field, restricting Northants to 138-7, Fi Morris picking up 2-24 from her seven-over spell.
In reply, Oxon made a good fist of the run chase, with Ellie Porter top-scoring with 41.
They looked well on course for victory at 126-6, but the remaining batsmen could manage only four runs between them as they were bowled out for 130.
