OXFORD Cheetahs have tempted one of their former riders, 26-year-old Czech international Ales Dryml, back to Cowley on loan from parent club Peterborough.

Dryml, younger brother of another former Cheetah, Lukas, is set to make his reappearance against Reading at Oxford Stadium tomorrow.

Dryml, born in Pardubice, was part of Oxford's title-winning squad during his previous spell between 2000-2002 before moving on to Belle Vue, Poole and then Peterborough.

He has been without a British team berth so far this season.

The rider who makes way in the current 2006 Cheetahs septet is out-of-form Swede Freddie Eriksson, although promoter Aaron Lanney stressed that Eriksson figures strongly in Oxford's plans.

"Freddie is an Oxford asset," Lanney said, "and I have assured him that he's very much in my thinking in terms of the future.

"However, he needs a bit of a break to sort out his machinery, and the loan signing of Ales was too good an opportunity to miss.

"He will certainly bolster our side and will help ease some of the pressure on our No 1 Todd Wiltshire.

"I'm sure the Oxford fans will give him a huge welcome when he makes his 2006 debut for us on Wednesday."

There are big doubts over both Australian Davey Watt and Dryml's fellow Czech Lubos Tomicek, who are facing major battles to be fit.

Davey badly damaged a wrist in a crash in Sweden last Thursday and is rated extremely doubtful.

Tomicek is still feeling the effects of a high-speed crash he was involved in during Cheetahs' home match with Coventry last Wednesday. He will line up at reserve if fit.

Cheetahs will definitely be without Swede Eric Andersson, who is competing in his home national championships.
