Rob Garrett made a sparkling debut for Charlburyby helping them to a seven-wicket victory at home to Witney Swifts in OCA Division 1 on Saturday.

Batting first, Swifts could manage only 92 all out, Alan Weaver taking 4-15, Pete Bartlett 3-24 and Andy Glass 3-23.

In reply, Garrett, who joined Charlbury from Stonesfield, dominated the small run chase, hitting 67 not out as they eased home Tetsworth's Hyron Shallow smashed a fantastic 156 in his side's 189-run thrashing of Minster Lovell. Shallow helped Tetsworth up to a massive 308-7, Rocky Burke being the next top-scorer with 45. In reply, Minster were never in the chase, falling to 119 all out.

Melvyn Riley (67no) and Tim Lunel (66no) shone as Hook Norton cruised to an eight-wicket victory at home to Twyford Richard Tredwell was again in form with bat and ball as Westbury saw off Horley by 65 runs. The former Bucks player hit 36 in Westbury's 224 all out, then claimed 3-32 as Horley were rolled over for 159. Neil Wilkins claiming 4-31.

Great Horwood won a thriller against Oxford Caribbean by one wicket with a ball to spare.

Veteran George Stevens (68) helped Caribbean to 193 all out.

Horwood were cruising at 88-0, but a clatter of wickets gave them a scare before they sneaked home, Stevens taking 3-30.

In Division 2, Mark Whale smashed 103 as Shrivenham beat Kings Sutton by 47 runs.

Shrivenham made238 all out. Kings Sutton were dismissed for 191 in reply, Neil Ray the pick of the bowlers with 4-37.

Nick Adby took 3-7 as Watlington saw off Broughton by seven wickets. Adby and Neil Maguire (3-21) combined to dismiss Broughton for just 76, then Watlington eased home.

In Division 3, Radley edged out Clifton Hampdenby 12 runs in a thrilling clash.

Paul Mayho top-scored with 74 in Radley's 221 all out, Shaad Dogar taking 4-58.

With Mick Richmond hitting 56, Clifton got close, until a run out ended their hopes.

Martin Turnbull returned superb figures of 8-34 as Letcombe edged out East & West Hendred by six runs.

Letcombe had scored 163, Julian Hitchman taking 5-18 for Hendred.

Ian Clewley (59) and John Francis (39) got Hendred off to a good start, before Turnbull ripped through the batting Mohammad Sarfraz starred again with the ball for East Oxford, but it was in vain as they crashed to defeat at home to Deddington.

Sarfraz took 8-20 in Deddington's paltry 93 all out, but East Oxford were then rolled over for 81, Rakesh Chennagiri taking 3-21.

Ten-man Dorchester were beaten by seven wickets at home toFringford. Adrian Redhead (79) scored more than half Dorchester's total of 142-7.

Tim Duester hit 102 as Charlbury 2nd beat West Ilsley by two runs.

Duester helped Charlbury to post 246-8. Ilsley were always in the hunt, but fell just short on 244-9.

In Division 6, Mick Tompkins's 106 was all in vain as Chipping Norton lost by 13 runs at Minster Lovell 2nd.

Ian East was Steventon's hero as they saw off Risinghurst by eight wickets.

East claimed 6-30 as Risinghurst were shot out for 122, then Steve Thompson (79) helped Steventon to 123-2.

A 115-run stand between Stan Matthews (78no) and Adam Taylor (53) helped Shrivenham 2nd to a 38-run victory over Horley 2nd. Shrivenham posted 195-5, then restricted Horley to 157-9, Dave Silvanus taking 4-22.

In Division 8, leg-spinner Dave Skidmore claimed 6-55 asStonesfield beat Minster Lovell 3rd by five wickets. The most exciting game of the day came at Twyford 2nd, where the home side beat Kennington 2nd by one run.

Twyford slumped from 150-5 to 166 all out i, then Kennington finished just short with two balls remaining.

Nigel Bateman smashed 143 not out as East & West Hendred 2nd rattled up 252-4 against Brill 2nd, who were held to 184-8, despite 64 from John Fitsell.

Chris King took 6-22 on his Witney Swifts 2nddebut to help his new team to a 17-run win over Charlbury 3rd in Division 10.

Swifts were shot out for 100, Ollie Hollings taking 5-17, but King and Graeme Woodwood (4-38) combined to dismiss Charlbury for 83.
