Torrential rain and very windy conditions failed to put off the 21 anglers who fished the Carp League 2006 match at an in-form Rissington.

Just eight ounces separated the first two anglers, Rob Guppy taking the honours with 139.12.0 of carp. He fished down the margins alternating between catmeat and pellet.

He finished just ahead of Steve Johnson with 139.4.0 on the long pole with pellet fished hard on the bottom.

In third place with 105.4.0 was Chris Dann, who fished both down the margins and also well out with catmeat.

Beehive AC kicked off their Summer League series at Lower Court, and although conditions were appalling, more than 640lb of fish went to the scales from the 19 anglers.

In first place was Kevin Jeacock with 117.12.0 of carp and skimmers on pole with caster and pellet.

Andy Waters captured 84.13.0 of carp on the pole with corn down the margins for runners-up sport, while Mick Merry weighed in 75.06.0 of carp and skimmers on pole and maggot well up in the water for third place.

Butlers Hill was the venue for the latest match in the K&M Tackle series. With 84.0.0 of carp, the clear winner was Steve Townsend, who fished the long and short pole with pellet.

Fishing meat down the margins, second place went to Mark Rivet with another net of carp going 74.0.0, while third with 71.0.0 was Barry Barnes, who varied his fishing, going long and short and using both maggot and pellet.

This year's Churts Charity Memorial match took place over at Clattercote with 34 raising £265 for the British Disabled Angling Association. The organisers passed on their thanks to everyone who sponsored the raffle.

Using the bagging waggler to great effect, Alan Smith put 40.11.0 of carp on the scales to take top spot.

He was followed by junior Chris Webb, 14, with 21.13.0 of carp on the pole with pellet.

On a very patchy Oxord Canal at Wolvercote Green, in-form Jason Bean went home with the silverware again in the latest North Oxfordmatch.

Jason caught skimmers and bits worth 24.0.0 on the pole with chopped worm.

He finished well clear of second-placed Alan Middleton, who fished the pole with maggot on the hook to take 5.9.0 of bits.

Only just behind was Morris Winstone who, despite breaking his pole, took 5.0.0, comprising a tench and some bits on the pole, alternating between maggot and the chop.

Abbey Lake over at Leamington was the venue for Kinloch AC's latest outing.

There were 26 anglers on the trip and it was the in-form Dean Bowerman, who triumphed with a mixed bag weighing 16.15.0 of skimmers and roach on the long pole with red maggot.

Fishing the waggler with maggot, second place went to Paul Woodley with 12.9.0 of skimmers and bits.

Cupping in chopped worm, caster and maggot, Andy Jacobs had two decent bream and a few bits for 11.8.0.
