Captain Ian Hawtin says Oxfordshire must win their next two games if they are to qualify from Group 4.

And that means his team must improve on their last showing when they face Buckinghamshire at Ascott Park, Wing, on Sunday.

Oxon were always struggling after Hertfordshire racked up 281-7 last week, but Hawtin believes his team are capable of much better.

He said: "We've got to win the next two games really to have any chance of winning the group and reaching the semi-finals.

"But I think we have a talented team. I have got confidence in the people that we've selected."

Oxon's batting line-up will certainly be boosted by the return of Rob Williams, who missed the defeat to Herts.

He will slot in alongside Banbury's Ian Tew as Oxford duo Stewart Laudat and Adam Cook are unavailable.

"It's good to have Rob Williams back as he has been a key player in the past," said Hawtin.

If Williams can play anything like as well as Herts' former Surrey batsman David Ward last week, Oxon should be in good shape.

Hawtin said: "David Ward was quite destructive.

"We knew what he could do, but couldn't really stop him.

"At one stage, they were looking like getting 300 plus, so we did reasonably well to restrict them to 281.

"When you are chasing that sort of score, you need to get off to a good start and not lose wickets.

"It was always going to be a tough ask and we didn't get close."

Aside from Laudat and Cook, Oxon are unchanged from last week's loss.
