TRAINER Martin Bosley is on the move from his Kingston Lisle stables, near Wantage, to a new yard at Marlborough in Wiltshire.

The 42-year-old handler, who has been at Kingston Lisle Farm Stables for the last nine years, has already transferred his string to an 18-box yard on the White Barn Farm estate owned by trainer Heidi Sweeting.

And the former jump jockey is excited by the new venture.

"It is a great opportunity," he said. "It is a fantastic place with great gallops and facilities. I can't wait to get there now.

"If you ever wanted to train racehorses, and you went all round the country, then this would be the place to go to. The facilities are rather special.

"If I am ever going to make it up to the next level, this is the place to do it from."

Bosley explained that jockey George Baker, who rides his Flat runners had recommended the new yard, which has two all-weather gallops among the facilities.

"I was saying to him I was looking for a fresh start basically because the roads around Kingston Lisle have got so busy," he said.

"Over there we don't have to do roadwork we can go straight out on to the gallops.

"It is only a matter of time before we have an accident here. One of Charlie Morlock's horses has already been killed in Kingston Lisle this year when it was hit by a car.

"We have trained over 50 winners here. We have done quite well with winners at Ascot (Rubhahunish), Goodwood (Silver Prophet) and Kempton (Makarim)."

Bosley, whose wife Sarah is a dual champion lady amateur rider on the Flat, plans to send out his first runner from his new base with Venetian Romance entered at Hereford tomorrow.

And he is hoping for a bold show from stable stalwart Quiet Reading at Southwell on Friday.

Meanwhile, Bosley, who hails from Bampton, will leave Kingston Lisle with fond memories.

"We have trained over 50 winners here," he said. "We have done quite well with winners at Ascot (Rubhahunish), Goodwood (Silver Prophet) and Kempton (Makarim)."
