Banbury United went down to an 89th-minute goal from Salisbury substitute Robert Matthews as they lost 2-1 at home to their Southern League Premier Division rivals.
Kevin Brock's side looked to have taken a point off the leaders after Darren Pond's 25-yard shot had hauled them level six minutes earlier.
But then Matthews hit the winner for Salisbury, who had led through Luke Prince's 31st-minute strike.
Banbury Utd: Foster, Pond, Kinch (Lazarus 89), Sullivan, Saulsbury, Fuller, Stanbridge, Lamb, Blossom, Redknap (Gooderick HT), Bridges. Subs not used: Jackson, Tricker.
Attendance: 588.
