Banbury A closed in on the Banbury Indoor League Division 1 title as they walloped Hook Norton by five wickets.

Batting first, Hooky were shot out for 95, despite 38 from Dan White.

Simon Launder took 3-42 for Banbury, before leading his side to victory inside eight overs with an unbeaten 26.

Banbury lost by 21 runs against Great & Little Tew.

Rob Garrett (30no) and Lloyd Brock (29no) saw Tew to 106-4.

Banbury were then bowled out for just 85, despite 30 from Lloyd Sabin and 24 from Jimmy Phillips.

Banbury Twenty beat Preston Capes by two wickets in a high-scoring clash.

Rob Hastings hit 56, Dave Clark 29no and Keith Arnold 28no.

Preston had posted 126-5, with Rob Williams (47) and Dave Hawkes (31no) leading the way. Hastings took 3-25.

Byfield edged past Charlbury by six runs.

Billy Adkins (29) helped Byfield to 118-6, before Lloyd Parkinson took 2-24 as Charlbury were restricted to 112-4 in reply.

Oxford fell to a two-wicket loss gainst eventual champions Godmanchester (Huntingdonshire) in the regional semi-final of the ECB Indoor competition at Edgbaston.

Batting first, Oxford posted 103, David Smith scoring 35 and Wasim Mehmood 28.

Smith then claimed 3-36, but Godmanchester eased home, before thrashing Worcester Nomads by 58 runs in the final.
