Ashley Cox produced a virtuoso display with 50 points to steer Wood Green (Witney) to a 74-69 win over European (Culham) in the Oxfordshire Under 14 basketball final.
Wood Green trailed by 13 going into the final quarter of the clash at Cheney School, but with Cox racking up points, they swept to victory.
He was well supported by Jamie Marani and Ryan Holcombe, who landed some crucial free throws in the closing stages, while James Blencowe starred in defence.
Now Wood Green go through to the first round of the new national competition with their opponents still to be decided.
