Vale of White Horse Under 11s’ hopes of being crowned County League champions were rocked by two late strikes as they were held to a 2-2 draw against Luton.

Jack Stanley fired Vale into the lead in the second half of the clash at Oxford Brookes Westminster Institute of Education, with a cracking free-kick from just outside the penalty area.

And when Joe Hartley beat two defenders before shooting over the Luton keeper with three minutes left it looked as if the points were in the bag.

But Luton scored as the game went into injury time, and then grabbed a dramatic equaliser with the last kick of the game.

Vale remain three points clear at the top of the table, but other teams have games in hand and can now overhaul them.

Their next game is against Chiltern & South Bucks at Farnham Common School, Bucks on Saturday.
