Former Oxford University winger Simon Danielli has been called up by Scotland to replace the injured Thom Evans in Saturday's RBS 6 Nations rugby union clash against Italy in Rome.
The 30-year-old, who will earn his 23rd cap, had mixed feelings about his recall with Evans having undergone double neck surgery after suffering a serious injury in the defeat to Wales nine days ago.
Fellow backs Chris Paterson and Rory Lamont's tournaments were also ended after they were hurt in the same game.
Danielli said: “It's nice to be included, but obviously that's come about on the back of some fairly severe injuries to what I consider good friends and teammates.”
