Rover Oxford couldn’t follow up last week’s first Division 1 win of the season, against Harrow, as they lost 1-0 to a physical Woking side.
One quick move from Woking penetrated their defence. This led to a short corner which was converted.
Rover felt they were unfortunate not to come away with at least a point.
Oxford Hawks drew 2-2 at home to Epsom.
They got off to a good start with a breakaway goal, Henri Coles’s great pass classily finished by skipper Ali Omell.
Epsom levelled, but just bef-ore half-time, Beth Warne converted a sharp penalty corner.
With five minutes remaining, Epsom squared it up again, but it was still a valuable point for Hawks in a tight division.
Banbury v West Witney in Division 3A was called off because of snow on the pitch.
However, Banbury got a boost because leaders High Wycombe surprisingly lost 3-1 to struggling Sonning.
City of Oxford had a mixed weekend, losing 3-2 at Staines 2nd on Saturday – Kirsty Brammer and Mel Banton scoring – but then beating Bracknell 3-0 in a rearrangeed game on Sunday.
Rachel Lamme, Brammer and Lisa Scragg got the goals, which keeps them second in the table.
Oxford University drew 3-3 at Tulse Hill in Division 2.
